hostage of pain


 

I trickle along on
condensation power,
my mortar and pestle
grinding each day
into dust
it fills my nose
expelled and sore
but it hurts
it shouldn’t, still
im an adult, I know
all the reasons, ways,
to screw someone over
part of training
but it hurts
im human and it hurts
I trusted, and it hurts
I accepted, again, again
and it hurts
I wish I was smart enough
to stop trying
with time, alcohol,
I will be numb,
and it will only be pain
no big deal, after all
I wish …
