grey night

if it must have a shape
it cannot be denied
if only some meanings dissolved
with a grand curtain call
broke free
to never hum again
if only this darkness
was cut with small knives
flashing between the fingers
curling silence into tune
twisting moments into pain
if only strands of sky
kept falling entangled
and leaving cold and clear
if only drowning screams
climbed like music and faded
and tears in falling scales
were allowed to disappear
in thunder and rain
